Celebrating Excellence at Ocado's Driver of the Year

At Driver Require, we are constantly inspired by the dedication and skill of drivers across the UK. That's why we were thrilled to attend Ocado's prestigious Driver of the Year event recently, celebrating the safest and highest quality drivers. Held at the iconic Donnington Race Track, the event was a day filled with fun, fast cars and fantastic camaraderie.

There were many happy faces as drivers took to the track in fast, impressive cars, demonstrating their speed and control. But it wasn't just about speed – the event also featured challenges that put drivers' precision and manoeuvring skills to the test. From navigating large lorries around the track to mastering intricate manoeuvres in vans, every aspect of driving excellence was on display.

As proud sponsors of the Driver of the Year award, we had the pleasure of hosting a stand where participants could test their skills in our remote control lorry reversing challenge. This is our 7^th year at the event, and the interest in the lorry remains high. We were particularly impressed by Jak Johnson, who emerged as the winner of our challenge with an astounding time of 14 seconds, winning a £200 Amazon voucher! Our lorry even went wandering and made some friends on the track... 

Beyond the competitions and challenges, what truly stood out was the sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among the drivers. It was evident that each participant shared a passion for driving and a commitment to safety and excellence.

We were thrilled to have our Senior Consultant from our Tamworth Branch, Chris, involved in the day, showcasing his skills behind the wheel of some of the impressive cars. Additionally, our Marketing Manager, Katy, and Administrator, Nathan, had the exhilarating experience of being driven around the track in the Ariel Atom, experiencing first hand the thrill of high-speed driving.

Events like Ocado's Driver of the Year are not only a celebration of individual achievements but also an opportunity to come together as a community and inspire one another. As a leading driving recruitment company, we are honoured to be a part of such events that highlight the importance of professionalism and skill in the driving industry.
