In Memory of Kieran Smith, Former CEO of Driver Require

It is with profound sadness that we share this message.

Kieran Smith, our former CEO, passed away on Wednesday 15th October after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer. As our leader and guiding light, right up to the time he went into hospital, his energy and commitment were astounding. Until the time of his passing, he was a fighter with extraordinary determination.

Joining Driver Require in the Autumn of 2007, he brought a wealth of commercial experience; his grasp of the business world helped guide us through turbulent times, including the financial crash of 2008, and underlined a significant resolve to see this through.

Kieran was widely respected not only as a dynamic company leader but also as a genuine industry thought-leader. He led our organisation’s research into the UK’s HGV driver market, leading the development of our in-house “Think Tank” and producing authoritative reports on driver supply, dynamics and recruitment challenges. Through his leadership, Driver Require became a trusted voice in the freight, haulage and recruitment sectors - a mark of the lasting impact he had on our industry and on our team.
