Work has begun to clear the fire-ravaged site where online supermarket Ocado operated before a blaze ripped through its warehouse in early February this year. It took more than 200 firefighters four days to tackle the major incident.

Following the fire, senior management at Ocado have met with North West Hampshire MP Kit Malthouse to discuss their future plans for the site, with bosses saying the company ‘remains committed to Andover’.

It is understood that surveying of the site has commenced, with a view to scoping out future potential and Ocado has begun to install 10,000sq ft of temporary refrigeration units with an aim to being geared up and ready for spring deliveries.
